Monochromatic: Purple

Image
Hello, Creative and Readers We've put together a purple monochromatic outfit for Ever. All the fabrics we used were recycled from previous projects. We made a long-sleeve shirt from stretchy fabric without any velcro or buttons. The inspiration for the overall dress came from Pinterest, and we decided to create our own patterns for it. After drawing and painting flowers with fabric paint , we let the pattern dry before cutting it out and sewing it together. We used sewing thread or embroidery thread to add the finer details. Finally, we paired the whole outfit with light purple boots.

Monochromatic: Light Blue

Hello, Creative and Readers Here we have Lulu pulling off a monochromatic look. We chose this light blue color for her because of her hair color. We used a satin glove to create the turtleneck mini dress . Of course, we took inspiration from Pinterest . We had a few scraps of the light blue leather, so we made a mini skirt overall . We used a glitter light blue embroidery thread for the details. The overall outfit was also something easy and simple for a real human to put together.

Monochromatic: Green

Hello, Creative and Readers We opted for a simple look for Zhen's outfit. We bought a sleeveless hoodie top online, which was part of a fashion pack, and decided to incorporate it into our monochromatic ensemble. We purchased fabric from Walmart and drew inspiration from a classic cargo short . To add detail to the shorts, we used embroidery floss. Notably, we didn't add Velcro or a button at the back of the shorts and intentionally sewed them shut as we planned to customize them later. This is an easy, straightforward outfit that anyone can put together and rock!

Complementary: Yellow and Blue

Hello, Creatives and Readers,  In our previous blog post, we shared a few monochromatic outfits for our female dolls. Now it's time to showcase more outfits for the male dolls. Below, you'll find Zyon wearing a complementary outfit. The shirt and shoes were part of a fashion pack, so we used both to create a complete look. We crafted the pants from an old cloth napkin, allowing us to recycle material. We found inspiration for the pants' pattern on Pinterest . To create the details, we used embroidery floss and sewing thread. The pants are secured at the back with velcro.

Hello, Creatives and Readers!  Here we have Dulce rocking a monochromatic look! We made her a mini skirt and a sleeveless crop top, both with details. We bought the fabric at Walmart . To create the mini skirt pattern, we referenced a mini skirt and scaled it down. For the top, we used a saran wrap method to shape the pattern and then sketched it out. After practicing the method several times, we felt confident to trace it onto fabric. We used embroidery floss and shiny tinsel to add details to the top and skirt, and created a choker using mini jewels. We found clear snap buttons for the top and skirt on Amazon .

Monochromatic Outfit: Burgundy color

Image
Hello Readers and Creatives! We created a monochromatic outfit for our doll Venus. Because the doll has burgundy-colored hair, it was easy to come up with the outfit. We found inspiration on Pinterest and didn't use any clothing patterns for the top and skirt . Instead, we made them spontaneously, using our imagination. The outfit was made from recycled jersey and pillowcase fabrics, both chosen for their stretch. We used thin glass beads, elastic string, a miniature clear button, and embroidery floss for the project.

Transforming random fabrics scraps into a complete outfit

Hello, Creatives and Readers! We made a handmade outfit for Zhen from scratch, including a shirt, pants , and jacket . This was our first attempt at creating an outfit for a male doll, and we found inspiration on Pinterest. To make the clothing patterns, we adapted human-size patterns to fit the doll's scale. We used materials like corduroy fabric, recycled denim, recycled cotton fabric, faux leather, sewing string, velcro, glass beads, and embroidery floss. Since we weren't confident using a sewing machine, we sewed everything by hand. We realized the importance of having sketches or patterns for designs, but sometimes we let our imagination guide us. We finished the look by making a fanny pack out of faux leather and thin glass beads.
