Monochromatic: Orange


Hello, Creatives and Readers! 

Here we have Dulce rocking a monochromatic look! We made her a mini skirt and a sleeveless crop top, both with details. We bought the fabric at Walmart. To create the mini skirt pattern, we referenced a mini skirt and scaled it down. For the top, we used a saran wrap method to shape the pattern and then sketched it out. After practicing the method several times, we felt confident to trace it onto fabric. We used embroidery floss and shiny tinsel to add details to the top and skirt, and created a choker using mini jewels. We found clear snap buttons for the top and skirt on Amazon.

We particularly enjoy creating long skirts that are easy to cut and sew together, so we custom-fitted the skirt to accentuate her curves while making sure the length was appropriate for Amani's height. The shoes were made by a creator I discovered on Mercari, and the accessories were handcrafted to complete her look. We designed a denim headband, a bag made from vegan leather, and a fluffy fabric for her scarf. Inspiration from a Designer

Hello Readers and Creatives, We want to start by thanking a special friend who has generously shared her fabric scraps with me. This not only helps with recycling but also allows us to create something new from materials that might otherwise go to waste. Among the fabric scraps, she pointed out some squares that were cut out, with the corners sewn. She suggested I might create a cone bra reminiscent of the one Madonna wore, designed by Jean Paul Gaultier. We took her suggestion into consideration and began inspecting the squares to figure out how we could transform them into a cone bra or perhaps a top. We needed to choose a doll for this project, and we decided to work with Amani, a curvy doll that we enjoy using for risqué fashion. Once we had chosen the doll, we measured the squares against her breasts to shape, mark, and fold them into cones.
